Consequences of Not Adhering To The Rules

What happens to refused ads?

Consequences of not adhering to the rules

We tailor actions to the violation:

  • Warnings: For minor issues, we notify you to correct the behaviour.

  • Temporary Restrictions: Posting is paused, giving you time to comply (e.g., after spam).

  • Permanent Blocks: Severe or repeated breaches lead to full account removal (e.g., illegal activity or underage use).

  • No Re-Entry: Banned users cannot return via new accounts—our systems detect linked profiles.

How We Decide

Decisions consider:

  • The rule is broken and its severity.

  • Your posting history and compliance record.

  • Evidence of intent (e.g., accidental vs. deliberate).

  • Potential harm to users or the platform.

What Happens Next?

  • Notification: You’ll see a screen message and receive an email.

  • Appeal Option: If you believe we’ve made a mistake, contact customer service with proof (e.g., age verification for underage claims). Decisions take up to 4 weeks but are typically managed in under 72 hours.

  • No Details on Detection: For high-risk cases (e.g., illegal activity), we don’t disclose investigation methods to protect our processes.

How to Stay in Good Standing

  • Read and follow our guidelines.

  • Post only what you control and own.

  • Respect category boundaries and user limits.

  • Contact us if unsure—prevention is easier than correction.

What Happens to Refused Ads?

The action depends on the violation’s severity:

  • Advert Disabled: Temporary—you can edit and repost after fixing the issue.

  • Advert Deleted: Permanent removal with no option to repost that content and no refund due if more than 24 hours have passed since initial publishing.

  • Account Action: Repeated or serious breaches may lead to restrictions or bans (see Why do we block accounts?).

  • Photo(s) or Video removed but advert accepted: If you have posted one or more photos or videos that are against the rules but the rest of your ad is fine, we’ll remove the offending media and put the advert live, you can then modify the advert to add media that complies with our rules.

We do not compensate or refund for live time lost due to non-compliance with our rules. See our refund policy for more details.

How To Avoid Refusal

  • Review category rules before posting.

  • Use clear, honest, and unique content.

  • Stick to one ad per item/service per area.

  • Ensure media is high-quality, owned, and compliant.

Contact us if unsure—better to ask than risk refusal.

Do not post on Vivastreet if you intend to post deceptive, illegal or harmful content.

How Will I Know My Ad Has Been Refused?

When an ad is refused, you’ll usually receive an email explaining the reason, with a link to our FAQs for more details. If not, our friendly Customer Service team can help.

For severe violations (e.g., links to illegal activity, scams, dangerous behaviour), we may disable your account immediately without prior notice or explanation. This is to ensure our investigation and detection methods are not compromised.
