Incode is the service we use to check that you are aged 18 or over before you can view age-restricted photos on Vivastreet.
The check starts with a selfie taken on your phone. If the selfie alone cannot confirm your age, Incode will ask you to scan an identity document.
1. How do I check my age?
Before you start, have your phone ready and keep your passport or identity card nearby in case you need it. You’ll need to complete the check within 15 minutes.
Start on Vivastreet
Select the age-check banner, confirm that you are 18 or over, and select Verify Now for Full Access.
Continue on your phone
If you’re on a computer, scan the QR code with your phone’s camera and open the link. Keep the Vivastreet page open on your computer.
If you’re already on your phone, continue on that device.
Review the consent information
Read the information shown by Incode, including the terms and privacy information, and confirm your agreement to continue.
Take your selfie
Allow access to your camera if asked, then follow the instructions on screen. Make sure your face is clearly visible and that you are the only person in the frame.
Scan your ID if asked
A selfie may be enough. If Incode needs an identity document, select the available document type and follow the instructions to scan it.
Check your result on Vivastreet
If you completed everything on your phone, you should return to Vivastreet automatically. If you started on a computer, return to the Vivastreet page you left open.
When your check passes, Vivastreet shows Age Check Successful, and age-restricted photos become visible.
2. Which phone or browser should I use?
Complete the check on your phone using:
Safari on an iPhone.
Google Chrome on an Android phone.
Open the check directly in one of these browsers, rather than inside an email or social media app. Allow camera access when prompted.
You cannot complete the check using a computer webcam. If you start on a computer, scan the QR code to continue on your phone.
3. Can I choose another language?
Incode supports several languages. You can choose from the available options at the start of your check.
4. Why am I being asked for ID after taking a selfie?
Sometimes a selfie alone is not enough to confirm your age. Incode may then ask you to scan an identity document.
Being asked for ID does not mean you have failed the check. It is the next step in confirming that you are 18 or over.
Use your own document, as Incode compares the photo on it with your selfie.
5. Which identity documents can I use?
When asked for ID, choose Identity Card or Passport from the options shown on screen.
Use a valid document and follow the capture instructions. Supported documents vary by issuing country. You can consult Incode’s document list for country-specific information, then use the options available in your check.
